WASHINGTON, D.C., Dec. 16, 2021 On Monday, December 13, 2021, in Brandywine, MD,

shared with Vice President Kamala Harris and other key leaders, the importance of electric
vehicles on improving the health for kids, families and communities. Vice President Harris

Harris Infrastructure Law. The federal government is leading the effort to fund the installation of
over 500,000 electric vehicle charging stations across the country.

“It is important that GWRCCC advocates for Electric Vehicle Equity so that urban, rural and
communities of color are not left behind. Let’s learn from the lessons of broadband and the
internet, stated Antoine M. Thompson, Executive Director of GWRCCC. We must ensure that
this law does not expand the number of electric vehicle charging deserts in the U.S., added
Thompson.

Other key officials and leaders at the event included US Senator Chris Van Hollen; US
Senator Ben Cardin; US Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm; US House Majority
Leader Steny Hoyer; National Climate Advisor, Gina McCarthy; Prince George’s County
