Director, Office of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund

Today, EPA announced that it is seeking applications for permanent director of the newly-formed Office of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, a career SES position. The director will lead the Office’s implementation of the $27 billion Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) program.
Created by the President’s Inflation Reduction Act, the GGRF is a first-of-its-kind national-scale competitive grant program and a key component of the Investing in America agenda. The GGRF programs include the nearly $14 billion National Clean Investment Fund, the $6 billion Clean Communities Investment Accelerator, and the $7 billion Solar for All competitions. By leveraging public resources to mobilize private capital, GGRF will catalyze investment in thousands of clean technology projects, build the capacity of community lenders to drive local economic growth, and deploy cost-saving solar energy on rooftops and in communities across the country.   The ideal candidate for the OGGRF Director position will have subject-matter expertise in finance and clean technology, grants administration experience, and strong management experience.  The vacancy announcement for the Director position can be found on USAJobs.gov (announcement number RTP-SES-2023-0042) and will remain open until June 26, 2023. The announcement also includes details on specific duties of the position and requirements of applicants. EPA expects that the search process will take 2-3 months, and that the Director will onboard in time to help drive the application evaluation and award selection phases of GGRF implementation.
