This panel discussion will help Community Association Board members gain confidence in introducing and managing EV charging programs within their communities, and adopt a systematic/sustainable approach to prepare for and respond to requests for EV charging. The conversation will explore practical approaches for charging in assigned spaces, shared parking areas, and on private property.

Panelists will include experienced professionals and community representatives who can share real-world lessons, successful approaches, and considerations for moving forward. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how their communities can create fair, workable processes that support residents today, prepare for growing EV adoption, and ultimately reap community-wide benefits, including enhanced property appeal and long-term value appreciation.

Transitioning public, municipal, and commercial fleets to low to zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) often faces significant barriers, including high upfront capital costs, long procurement lead times, and complex supply chain constraints. This practical panel brings together fleet directors, procurement officers, and finance experts to showcase innovative procurement mechanisms that bypass traditional buying hurdles. Panelists will analyze how leasing structures, General Services Administration (GSA) schedules, and inter-agency Joint Purchase Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) can drastically compress procurement timelines, optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), and scale alternative fuel deployment across the region.

The session will discuss issues facing fleets and how they can plan to move toward cleaner and more fiscally stable fleet operations, through greater adoption of alternative fuels, greater efficiency, and better overall fleet practices. In particular, the focus will also include planning ahead to meet goals in 2030 and beyond and then the steps to move forward, including a discussion as to how GWRCCC can help fleets accomplish this.
