Rev. Lucinda Kent
Speaker: Green Faith: Developing an Actionable Sustainability Plan for Houses of Worship and Faith-Based Organizations
Rev. Lucinda Kent serves as Senior Director of the Faith-Based Development Initiative
(FBDI) at Enterprise Community Partners, where she leads one of the nation’s premier
faith-based affordable housing initiatives. In this role, she oversees strategy,
partnerships, fundraising, market expansion, and program implementation, helping
houses of worship transform underutilized land into affordable housing and community-
serving developments. Working with faith leaders, developers, public agencies,
philanthropies, and investors, she advances innovative solutions that leverage faith-
owned assets to address housing affordability, strengthen neighborhoods, and create
lasting community impact.
Under her leadership, FBDI equips congregations with the tools, technical assistance,
and resources needed to navigate complex real estate and development processes
while aligning property stewardship with mission. Her work sits at the intersection of
faith, housing, community development, and social impact, helping faith communities
become catalysts for equitable development and neighborhood revitalization.
In addition to her role at Enterprise, Lucinda serves as part-time pastor of Van Buren
United Methodist Church in Washington, D.C. She previously served as Property with
Purpose Coordinator for the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist
Church, working directly with congregations exploring how to best leverage their land
and property in alignment with mission and community needs.
