WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 2, 2026) — The Greater Washington Region Clean Cities Coalition (GWRCCC) will host a press conference Today, April 2nd, at 12:00 PM to unveil details for the 2nd Annual Earth Day Walk and Green Expo. The briefing will take place at the event’s official staging site on the National Mall at 3rd Street SW and Madison Drive NW.
With the theme “Our Power, Our Planet,” this year’s Earth Day celebration (scheduled for Saturday, April 18) focuses on the urgent shift toward renewable energy and sustainable transportation. Today’s press conference will feature remarks from regional environmental leaders and a preview of the high-tech alternative fuel vehicles that will be on display during the main event.

The full event on April 18th will include an interactive learning experience, an alternative vehicle display, and a walk starting from across the street from the U.S. Capitol, down the National Mall and returning for a recognition ceremony. Today’s briefing will provide journalists with specific route information, and interview opportunities with the experts leading the region’s green energy transition.
