The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) are investigating ways to create a plan for fully decarbonize the aviation industry by 2050, with that impressive goal a market for Sustainable Aviation Fuel(SAF) is needed. Using SAF, it is recorded to reduce 80% in carbon emissions over the lifecycle of the fuel compared to traditional jet fuel it replaces. So why aren’t more jets liners using this, similar to how car manufactures have made impressive feats to bring in alternative fuel into the market? Currently the aviation fields framework for alternative fuel is servery lacking in 2022, this is due to the cost of using technology such as this.
